Session 13: Written reports

Learning goals: The aim of this session is to equip the analyst with the tools to present intelligence findings effectively. In the first part of the reporting session participants learn to present the results of an analysis in a clear written report.

Prerequisits: Module 4: Evaluation, collation, analysis

Session 12: Analysis

Learning goals: Learn that a good understanding of the information collected so far is the basis to find gaps and to analyse the information. Create premises that lead to an inference. Construct the argument that supports your inference.
Duration approx. 35 minutes.
Prerequisits: Session 11, Collation of information

Session 11: Collation

Learning goals: Wrap up the information you collected, find connections and gaps, make information easily accessible
Duration approx. 20 minutes.
Prerequisits: Information collection and evaluation

Session 10: Evaluation

Learning goals: Evaluate the information you collected so far
Duration approx. 20 minutes.
Prerequisits: Intelligence Cycle: Collection

Session 8: International closed sources

Learning goals: Writing and sending requests for international assisstance (example: using the Egmont Secure Web (ESW))
Duration approx. 25 minutes.
Prerequisits: Information collection domestic sources

Session 7: Domestic closed sources

Learning goals: Check company register. Use of police investigation / records. Other domestic sources.
Duration approx. 25 minutes.
Prerequisits: Collect information from STR and FIU database

Session 6: Collect information; STR and FIU database

Learning goals: Open and closed sources of information. How to search your FIU database.
Duration approx. 25 minutes.
Prerequisits: Module 2: Planning

Session 5: Hypothesis and collection plan

Learning goals: Creating a hypothesis. Information included in an STR. Intrdocution of the example case used throughout this course. How to create a collection plan.
Duration approx. 25 minutes.
Prerequisits: Risk assessment of STRs
